Title: Reverse Engineering Success: Transforming a Broken Sample into Mass Production
Sometimes, a single broken rubber seal can bring an entire operation to a halt. Recently, a client reached out to us with a critical problem: they needed a replacement for a highly specific seal, but they had no 2D/3D drawings, no original manufacturer details, and only a severely damaged physical sample.
They packed the cracked, aged seal into a USPS envelope and shipped it directly to our facility.

The Challenge: Rebuilding from FragmentsWhen we inspected the sample, it was stiff and snapped in half. Relying on simple manual measurements wouldn't guarantee the tight tolerances required for a perfect seal. We needed a flawless digital recreation.

Our Solution: 3D Scanning and Custom MoldingAt Lanbiao Technology, reverse engineering is one of our core strengths. Here is how we brought this part back to life:
Precision 3D Scanning: Our engineering team carefully measured the broken pieces and used 3D software to reconstruct the exact original dimensions, accounting for the natural shrinkage and wear of the old rubber.
Mold Development: Based on the approved 3D model, our CNC machining center cut a high-precision custom mold.
Material Selection: We selected premium EPDM rubber to ensure excellent weather resistance, durability, and a long lifespan.

The Result: Ready for the MarketWhat started as a broken piece of rubber was successfully transformed into a reliable, mass-produced component. The new EPDM seals passed our strict quality control and were neatly packed, labeled, and shipped back to a very relieved client.

We are more than just a manufacturer; we are your problem-solving partner. If you have a discontinued part or a broken sample without drawings, send it to us.
